    AssetMark Respects Your Privacy

We want you to understand what personally identifiable information we collect from you online when you use or visit our websites, assetmark.com or ewealthmanager.com, and when you interact with our advertisements online. In this Online Privacy Policy, “we” and “our” refers to AssetMark Financial Holdings, Inc., AssetMark, Inc., AssetMark Trust Company, and AssetMark Services (collectively, “AssetMark”). “You” refers to you, an individual.

Information AssetMark Collects From You When You Visit Our Websites

We operate two websites, assetmark.com and ewealthmanager.com

    • When you visit our websites, our web servers collect the name of the domain and browser you used to access the Internet, as well as your computer’s Internet Protocol (IP) address, information about your device identifier, and your general location based on your IP address. We also will collect information about the pages of our websites that you visit, the time and date of your visit, the time you spend on those pages, the website you came from and visit next, and other diagnostic data. We collect this information through the use of cookies.

    • When you log into your account, our web servers also collect your name, email address, and the fact that you have entered a correct password to access your account. We also collect a record of any electronically entered instructions or communications that you enter while logged into your account. We use encryption and authentication tools to protect information that we obtain from you while you are logged into our websites.

    • We also collect information that you provide to us voluntarily through our websites, including when you sign up to receive our newsletter, when you submit information through our “Contact Us” form, and when you apply for employment through our “Careers” page.

Our Websites Use Cookies With Your Consent

Cookies are files with a small amount of data (text files) which may include an anonymous unique identifier. When you visit our websites, our server asks your browser to store cookies on your device in order to remember information about you, such as your language preferences or login information. Those cookies are set by us and return information to our servers. They are called first-party cookies.

Our websites also use third-party cookies, which are cookies from a domain other than our domain. These cookies are set for our advertising and marketing efforts. Third-party cookies are used for cross-site tracking, retargeting, and ad serving. Third-party cookies provided by other domains and set by AssetMark return information to that other domain’s server.

Each cookie is coded to expire after a certain amount of time. The duration of a cookie is measured from the first click on the website to its expiration.

Our Websites Use The Following Types Of Cookies

    • Strictly necessary cookies. These cookies are essential for you to browse the website and use its features, such as accessing secure areas of the site.  These cookies cannot be switched off in our systems.  They are usually only set in response to actions made by you that amount to a request for services, such as setting your privacy preferences, logging in, or filling out forms.

    • Performance cookies. These cookies collect and analyze information about how you engage with the website, like which pages you visited, how long you stayed on a page, and which links you clicked on.  These cookies help us to know which pages are the most and least popular and see how visitors move around the website.  If you do not accept these cookies, we will not know when you have visited our site. One of the performance cookies we use is Google Analytics, which shares this data with other Google services. Google may use the collected data to contextualize and personalize the ads of its own advertising network. In addition to choosing whether to opt-in to analytics cookies used on our websites, you can generally decline analytics cookies by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, which is available at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. To learn more about how Google uses information from sites or apps that use its service, please see Google’s Privacy Policy: policies.google.com/privacy.

    • Marketing cookies/Targeting cookies. These cookies are set through our website by third parties, such as our advertising partners.  These cookies track your online activity to help advertisers build a profile of your interests, deliver more relevant advertising to you on other websites, or to limit how many times you see an ad. By accepting these cookies, you are directing us to share information collected by these cookies with the third parties who have placed the cookies for the third party’s use.  If you do not accept these cookies, you will still see advertisements, but the advertisements will not be targeted to you.

    • Functional cookies. These cookies allow a website to provide enhanced functionality and personalization. These cookies enable the website to honor choices you have made in the past, like what language you prefer or what your username and password are, so you can automatically log in. If you do not accept these cookies, then some or all of these services may not function properly.

Please note that blocking some types of cookies may negatively impact your experience on our websites and limit the services we are able to provide.

You also can manage cookies by adjusting your browser settings. Some browsers (such as Apple’s Safari and Mozilla’s Firefox) automatically block third-party cookies. Most web browsers let you choose whether to accept cookies. Most also let you delete cookies already set. The choices available, and the mechanism used, will vary from browser to browser. We Share Some Of The Information We Collect From You Online

In some circumstances, we share information we collect from you with third parties for our business purposes and for other reasons as permitted by law. The categories of third persons with whom we share information are:

    • Disclosure to Service Providers. AssetMark shares personal information as necessary to effect, administer or enforce transactions that you request or authorize or in connection with processing or servicing your financial products or services or maintaining or servicing your account with us. AssetMark also shares personal information that we obtain from you online with organizations that provide us with services to enhance our business and the services we provide. Our service providers include organizations that provide services including website hosting, data analysis, e-mail services, marketing, advertising, and helping us to evaluate the performance of our websites and advertisements. These services use cookies to collect authentication details, online identifiers, cookie identifiers, IP addresses, browsing history, device identifiers, activity log files, and user names. Our third-party service providers include Hubspot. You can review the privacy policies of Hubspot by reviewing its privacy policy which is linked here: legal.hubspot.com/product-privacy-policy. Our service providers are prohibited from using your information for any purpose other than to carry out the purposes for which we disclosed the information and as otherwise permitted by law.

    • Disclosure to Third-Parties. We share information about your use of our websites with Google Analytics and social media platforms so they can contextualize and personalize the advertisements of their own advertising network. We also share information that we gather about you via our advertising and marketing cookies to provide you with customized and relevant advertisements.

    • Disclosures to Comply with Laws, Legal Processes, and Law Enforcement. AssetMark cooperates with government, law enforcement officials, regulators, and private legal processes to comply with the law and legal processes. We will disclose information to government, law enforcement officials, regulators, and others as we believe is necessary or appropriate to respond to claims and legal processes (including subpoenas and administrative summonses), to protect the property and rights of AssetMark or a third party, to protect the safety of the public or any person, or to prevent or stop activity we may consider to be illegal, unethical or legally actionable.

We Use The Information That We Collect Online For Advertising Purposes

We work with service providers and third-party providers, including Google, to display advertisements for our products and services on other websites. Our service providers use cookies and web beacons to collect information regarding your interaction with our website advertisements on other websites (such as LinkedIn) to provide you with targeted advertising relating to our products and services. AssetMark may also engage in cross-device data collection, which refers to the process of collecting data from separate devices that have been determined through statistical analysis to be linked or related on behalf of visitors to our websites or persons who interact with our advertisements. AssetMark, or its service providers, may use cross-device data to deliver tailored ads to users across multiple devices.

You Can Opt Out Of AssetMark’s Use Of Your Information For Interest-Based Advertising

If you wish not to have your information used for the purpose of serving you interest-based or targeted ads, you may opt out by clicking here and following the instructions: networkadvertising.org/choices. Please note that this does not opt you out of being served all advertising or even all of our advertisements. You will continue to receive generic advertisements. You may also continue to receive advertisements from AssetMark, but it will not be because you previously indicated an interest in AssetMark or our services.

Responding To "Do Not Track" Signals

Some internet browsers have incorporated “Do Not Track” features. Most of these features, when turned on, send a signal or preference (the “DNT Signal”) to the websites that you visit, indicating that you do not wish to be tracked. There is no universally agreed-upon standard for what a company should do when it detects a DNT signal. If we detect that your browser has sent a “Do Not Track” signal or that you have enabled global privacy controls such as a browser plug-in or privacy setting, device setting, or other mechanism that communicates or signals your choice to opt-out of the sale of your personal information, we will treat that as a valid request to opt-out for that browser or device (or the consumer, if known). If you have enabled a global privacy control but affirmatively consent to our use of cookies, we will treat your specific opt-in consent as overriding your general global privacy control settings. If you wish to opt out of AssetMark serving you interest-based or targeted ads, click this link and follow the instructions on the site: networkadvertising.org/choices.

You Can Correct The Information That We Gather About You Online

If you entered information online and later need to correct that information, please contact us at (833) 620-0416 (toll-free). Please note that if we cannot associate the information to you, we may not be able to correct it.

Third Parties May Collect Personal Information About You When You Visit Our Websites

When you visit our websites, other parties can collect personal information about your online activities over time and across different websites. This is because our websites use Google Analytics, which shares data with other services to contextualize and personalize the ads of their own advertising networks. You can opt out from having your data collected by these analytics providers by declining “analytics cookies” from our websites.

Our website, assetmark.com, also contains Social Media Plugins (“buttons”) for Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter. These buttons work by using code from the social media companies that allow you to connect to them and allow them to collect information about your activity while you are on our websites, including your Internet Protocol address, the pages you visit, the device and browser you are using, and more. You can review the privacy policies of these social media companies to learn more about the data they collect, whether they engage in cross-device tracking and targeted advertising, and how to manage or control the collection of data in your account settings.

    Linking To Other Websites

Our websites may contain links to other websites that are controlled by third parties and provide access to third-party information and services. These links are provided to you as a convenience, and we are not responsible for the content, action, or performance of any linked website. Please be aware that other websites have their own privacy policies, and their data-gathering practices may be different from ours. We are not responsible for the information collected by other websites if you link to them from our websites. We cannot guarantee how those sites use cookies or whether they place cookies on your computer that may identify you. You should carefully review the privacy policies of each website you visit to understand how it collects and uses information.

We Communicate With You By Email, But You Can Say No
